Chanakya The Institute in Santacruz East

Born in 4th Century B.C. in India, Chanakya was teacher of Politcal Science and Economics at ancient Takshila University. He is also known as Vishnugupta and Kautilya.
As a political thinker, he was the first to visualize the concept of a ‘nation’ for the first time in human history and brought fragmented individual states all together under one central governance, thus creating a Nation called ‘Aryavartha’, which later became India. He documented his lifelong work in his book ‘Kautilya's Arthashastra’ and ‘Chanakya Niti’.
The Kautilya’s Arthashastra outlines fundamental duties of a ruler to successfully govern the kingdom. It also discusses Management, law, foreign policies, warfare and military tactics. The 6000 sutras described in Arthashastra are in Sanskrit and have been classified into 15 books, 150 chapters and 180 topics by Kautilya himself.
Kautilya was responsible for bringing down the Nanda dynasty and establishing his able student Chandragupta Maurya on the throne as the Emperor. Hence he is called a 'King Maker'. He is also credited with masterminding the defeat of Alexander in India when he was on his march to conquer the world.
For ages rulers across the world have referred to the ‘Arthashastra’ for building a nation on Sound Economics, based on spiritual values.
